*IMPORTANT FIREWISE INFORMATION*

Congratulations – By residing in, and being a member of the Dos Vientos Ranch West Master Homeowners Association, your home is recognized as being part of a FireWise community.  This designation has been achieved thanks to your association board’s hard work in developing a program in cooperation with the Ventura County Fire Department. This FireWise designation recognizes and verifies residences or communities, nationwide, who are committed to reducing fire risk.  It is recognized by many insurance carriers and has already resulted in some residents receiving a discount on their Homeowners Insurance policies.  The amount is different from carrier to carrier but, at the very least, this designation could result in some carrier’s recalculating individual rate increases and/or cancelations.

Moving forward, this FireWise designation is dependent upon continued Association-Wide efforts.  Please carefully read the 3-Year Action Plan and Ready Set Go Action Plan; Also PLEASE take part in the Resident Participation Survey.

We’ve found that insurance carriers will ask for a FireWise Certificate as well as a Map showing that your property is within a FireWise approved community.  

That certificate, map, and other vital information can be found on this page.  Be prepared to save and attach the certificate and map when you communicate with your insurance broker.

All houses in Dos Vientos Ranch West Association are now recognized as being a FireWise approved community.  The certificate and map showing our address located within the recognized boundaries is attached.  Will you please submit this information up the ladder & let me know how much of a discount we’ll be receiving and when it will take effect.
